Most of the printing materials used in offset printing machines are paper, cardboard, metal foil, etc. In the case of printed materials such as Dacron and silk, if you still want to use an offset printing machine, you must go through a special process - paste. The textile paste process has the following steps:
1. Material preparation
(1) Sink: used to soak paper.
(2) Smooth plate: such as waste PS version.
(3) Brushes, towels, and pastes
It is better to paste it with homemade flour.
(4) Printing materials
Such as Dacron, silk, etc., according to the size of the print format cut it slightly larger than the print size.
Choose offset paper with a basis weight of 80 g/m2 and 100 g/m2. These papers are strong and breathable, and the paper web is slightly larger than the silk fabric. Soak the paper in the sink for seven to eight minutes, then take it out and dry it. It is better to touch it with water but not dripping.
2. Process steps
The first step is to tile the PS plate, lay the cut silk fabric on top and apply it with a brush to smooth it. Be careful not to have air bubbles, wrinkles, and foreign objects on the silk fabric.
Step 2: Lift the dry paper first, place the other side on the side of the silk fabric, and wipe gently with a towel. After flattening, wipe from the center to the sides to catch the bubbles.
Step 3: Lift the paper together with the silk fabric. Wipe the excess paste on the PS plate with a rag. Then put the paper on the PS plate together with the silk fabric. After flattening, wipe from the center to the sides so that there are no air bubbles and dry.
Step 4: After drying, use a razor blade to cut along the edge of the silk fabric, then gently peel off the PS plate, cut it into a print size and print it on the machine.
(1) The third step seems to be redundant but indispensable. If too much paste is made between the PS plate and the silk fabric, it will bring difficulties to the subsequent stripping.
(2) The pressure between the blanket cylinder and the impression cylinder should be reduced during printing, and the amount of water should be controlled to avoid deformation during the printing process.
Pasting is a method that makes textiles suitable for offset offset printing, especially map printing, such as administrative division maps, water conservancy engineering drawings, etc. It is both beautiful and easy to save. However, due to the strong manual operation of the paste, the efficiency of the production is not high, and it is only used for small batch printing.
